I fly to Orlando for IT conferences at least once a year, and would echo what others have stated - fly to Tampa if your itinerary allows. The issue with the LGW-MCO flight is that it arrives at almost exactly the same time as the Virgin flight between the same airports, meaning that 6-700 mostly UK-based folks have to file through immigration. The new electronic immigration machines have made a difference, but delays can still be up to 2 hours at busy times - deeply unpleasant with young children after a 9 hour flight.

Tampa is a much more pleasant experience and, at worst, only adds 45 minutes or so to your drive after picking up hire car etc.

Now if only BA would have a flight from LHR T5 to TPA, then I'd be one happy man :-)
