I see you are trying to help me preserve the maximum value of the points...Which i agree pointbreaks are the best. However, most of the time the point breaks(PB) are places I wouldn't ever want to visit. If i save 50,000 points for 10 PB nights...that seems like plenty for the off chance that one of the properties is actually desirable and convenient to get to.

I was looking at the mastercard option because it seems the best use for cash equivalent, made better if it could be used anywhere mastercard is accepted. Does anyone really think it is limited to only merchants who are hospitality/hotel related? The verbage looks like it indicates that....but it isn't a sure bet in my opinion.
