Now, I need to book two connecting rooms and hope that we get upgraded when we arrive...
I also told Delta that their room standards were not on par with SPG group (IE, Toronto Airport West, Markham, Vancouver Airport, Edmonton Down Town, Bow Valley Calgary ect etc) and they only reason I stayed with them was becuase of the upgrades at time of reservation. I have P+ this year, but will not be chasing status anymore. I have started to book on RocketMiles so I can get the big bump in aeroplan miles. This way I can experiance some unique hotels, get the miles I want and not be concerned with chasing status anymore...
I did the letter thing too and discovered the Delta CRM & Loyalty Marketing Manager monitors these threads so comments like this do fall on the right ear's on Flyertalk....whether is has any weight or not its all free marketing intelligence if they wish to consider it....after all most frequent travellers by the time they get to Flyertalk have considerable wealth of experiences and can be valuable resources.
I just started to look at Rocket Miles for grabbing Aeroplan miles.....do you know if stays count 100% for status building/points etc ?
That's become my new project as well.....a travel plan liberated from declining "incentive" programs. I know I settle into travel routine's but everytime the Hotel programs degrades it forces me to look around...you'd think the Hotel's would realize change often costs them existing customers.
