I think the answer to your question is probably no, but if you're in J, whether you're Silver or Gold should make zero difference to your ground or inflight experience. Just waiting it out makes more sense, as op-up for Gold members won't happen J to F.

Only extra benefit you'll get from Gold is 1pc extra allowance on this route. Don't know if that matters to you.
