Just returned last week and stayed at both hotels. The Ritz is wonderful and I feel they are receiving undue poor reviews. They both are expensive as is Aruba in general. The Ritz has less children and has a more romantic/upscale atmosphere. That being said, I enjoy the Marriott because it is more lively (the casino and music at the swim up bar pool). It is an easy walk between the two so you can enjoy both venues.

Received an upgrade at the Ritz from the lowest level room type to an ocean view. I booked a Jr. Suite at the Marriott and it was awesome, so no upgrade needed or wanted.

For a honeymoon I guess I would say the Ritz if you are looking for quiet/romantic elegance. However you won't go wrong with either one! Aruba is AWESOME and by far my favorite island vacation! Hope this helps! Congrats!
