As had been suggested above, no temp scanners on entering the airport. We were fine by the time we arrived at PEK.

With regards to the general question of temperature scanning at airports, obviously practice will vary by country and 'state of alert'. I know that during H1N1 a few years back, before evidence pointed to the strain not being too virulent, all pax were being scanned on arrival to PEK, on the aircraft for a short while. Those found to be feverish were essentially told to stay in their homes/ hotels and not venture out for a week -- which would have been a disaster for tourist/ business visitor!

There were similar (though not quite as drastic) vigilance with H7N9 last year...and I'm sure Japan would have been keen not to import cases.
