I believe what OP is saying is that the approval of the Exec resets the 12-24 month clock. But I guess you are right, a denial reset the 8/65 clock, but no matter what, if the two want to apply for another AA plat, they have to wait 12-24 month. But Exec is not in that clock.
If I applied for Citi AA Plat on 03/04 and Citi Exec 03/15 can I apply for a second Exec about 2 weeks later or do the 8/65 day rules still apply? I feel like this card breaks a lot of "established" rules.
