Thanks again for everyone's thoughts. I had not considered the idea of hiring a driver for a few days - that could be helpful, actually.
I'll be sure to report back (I'll probably do some sort of trip report) and send it on to the people that have been particularly helpful in my planning and others who have requested an update.
