Admirals Clubs prohibited bringing in food from outside the club for many years until the Admirals Clubs began selling hot and cold food. At that point, nearly all justification for banning food (potential spills, smells, trash, etc) evaporated. Revenue protection would be the only remaining justification, and oddly enough, AA did not adopt the position of movie theatres or arenas which prohibit outside food to limit their patrons' choice.
