Now, I'm not sure that really should have happened. You're actually putting it on the toes of anyone taller than about 1.8 metres sitting behind you, unless it was a very small bag. If was between your feet and the metal bar then it should not have been there for safety reasons that came out of the Kegworth incident.

The great thing about row 1 is that these seat-in-front rules don't apply to you, which is why the tagging thing gets very confusing until BA wakes up the CWS Proposed SOP. If the area above your head was full, it may have been staff bags - though are getting a bit better at not doing it - or indeed you may have been on an aircraft with poor storage in that area. But don't hesitate to get the staff to assist, you did pay for CE one way or the other!
