Am I alone in being a bit miffed at this? I aim to travel light, so for a 2-night work trip, I take a laptop bag with my PC and clothes all stuffed in. So one of what BA obviously calls a "smaller" bag.
It seems that in return for being sensible, not taking liberties with the hand baggage rules, and not packing the kitchen sink, I am "rewarded" by BA with the loss of a big chunk of leg room. Which, at 6'3", is not a great "reward".
Even ignoring whether you have BA status, this is annoying. With status, it is even more irritating - I kind of view status as giving the ability to board first, and therefore have an advantage when it comes to the locker space.
I also know that I could be dishonest and rip the tag off when nobody is looking. Which means that the choice is:
- Carry a bag that is too big to go under the seat in front, so it needs to go in the overhead.
- Be dishonest by ripping the tag off.
- Lose half the legroom under the seat in front.
That doesn't seem to reward or encourage good behaviour. Am I alone in being dissatisfied here?
I also had one tag put on my bag at Zagreb in February, the odd thing was I was in seat 1D, no seat in front of me, so I put it under my seat !
