I've seen this in a lot of lounges in the US and internationally. I'm okay with that rule because it keeps the trash clutter down and also prevents stinkiness. Don't really want someone's tuna sandwich or Five Guys stinking up the lounge especially if it's a long layover (don't get me wrong- I love me some Five Guys but the French fry oil smell really lingers and it's kinda rank after a while).
