If you change FFP's eventually you loose QF status, unless you have lifetime Gold or Silver.
To many QF points & pay is a poor use of QF points. Better for many, including myself, to use points on business awards. You cannot use QF points to upgrade AA flights or use AA miles to upgrade QF flights.
