Does BGO have a nice enough lounge to make surprising my parents with an upgrade worthwhile? They already have the CE style row behind the curtain so no gain there and TPs are not an issue though the bonus avios would be nice.
I get these offers a lot on returns on a TA booking - have done for years.
I find I don't tend to get them on the outbound.
Having said that - I've found that once the flight gets within airport control - suddenly I can do everything (including upgrade directly with cash) - but I've still never had a POUG on an outbound TA booking.
