With the amount of business BA and VS now produce compared to U2, I suspect the move will be on a take it or leave it basis. With BA, and probably with VS as well, there is not sufficient space at LHR for all their operations at one London airport so their hands are tied at LGW and the LGW management there will happily take advantage of it.
But how much per year does GAL make from U2 compared to the combined BA & VS ?
Bigger aircraft = more charges by the operator, more fuel etc etc etc
