If you want to drive, ONT is the way to go given your options. Traffic on I-10 or CA-60 going east towards ONT will be rough on Labor Day. Some holidays result in light traffic on those freeways, Labor Day is not one of those holiday.
Things may have changed over the past 2 years, but I would respectfully disagree with that. I lived in Mira Loma for 7 years while working in Anaheim and then LA. Holidays (inc. Labor Day, Memorial Day, President's Day, etc.) were some of the few days a year I didn't mind driving the 10 or 60. Going the other way... yeah, don't even think about it. The traffic coming from Palm Springs/AZ/Vegas on the last day of a 3-day weekend will kill you. People won't be going into LA for that weekend and most of the traffic is generally on the 55/91/15 with the crowd that went to SD/the beach.
