I'd pick the middle of the country. Denver if you want to be close to the mountains or maybe even Salt Lake. Otherwise I'd look at Texas. COL is lower along with no state income tax. If you want to stay with US, DFW would be the obvious choice. IAH would be similar if you want to be closer to water.
