Flight review SIN-PER - Singapore Airlines - J/C

Here's a flight review of a trip I did Singapore to Perth in Business class on a Singapore Airlines 777-200... The full review with pictures is here: http://lifestobelived.com/2014/03/11...usiness-class/

If you would like to ask questions or give feedback, always happy to hear it here or on the review...

Summary

What’s to like – Singapore Airlines always provides a solid product in any of their classes, this flight lived up to their reputation.

Could improve – It would be nice if Singapore Airlines would move some of their newer products onto the Singapore-Perth route, but for a 5 hour day-time flight the product was sufficient.

—————————————————————————————————————

Flight number – SQ 213

Seat Number – 14K

Aircraft type - Boeing 777-200

Check in/Transfer – I was transferring from a flight down from Seoul, so after a bit of walking around Changi Airport I was able to find a transfer desk and get my new Singapore Airlines ticket which also gave access to the Silver Kris Lounge.

Lounge -The lounge was fairly empty when I arrived at about 12.30am into Changi Airport but still had a good selection of food available and many seats. Computers and showers were also available and I took the chance to freshen up with a shower, after which I had something to eat and a hot drink. As I was flying out to Perth at 7am I decided to just find a darkish corner of the lounge and lay down (several other people had the same thought) with my phone set to wake me.

Seat – The business class cabin on this version of Singapore Airline’s 777-200 was laid out in a 2-2-2 configuration with an angled lie-flat bed. The seat was comfortable and while angled lie flats might be an issue for over night flights, this was not an issue for a 5 hour early morning flight. The IFE system had a good selection of current movies, tv episodes, documentaries and music available.

Food and beverages -It was a short flight down to Perth so only a fruit starter and then breakfast of scrambled eggs, sausages etc were available but they were all nicely presented and tasted good. Here are the food and beverage menus.

Service quality - As always the quality of service provided by the Singapore Airlines flight attendants was friendly and pleasant and they made it an enjoyable flight.

On time - The flight departed on time and arrived on time.

Conclusion - Singapore Airlines in renowned for the quality of the service they offer and I rate them highly amongst airlines for their hard and soft product. This was my first experience of Singapore Airlines business class and although not the top of the line business product (such as in their A380s and 77Ws) it was still a enjoyable flight. As more airlines put on lie-flat business class products (such as Thai Airways soon to be introduced B787) it would be nice to see Singapore Airlines introduce an upgraded product on at least one of its 4 daily services to Perth.
