If you are taking the cross country train then you could try taking a taxi to Minster village (about 2.5 miles) which has 3 good pubs serving food, some restaurants/food outlets as well. The cross country train stops at Minster so you could stroll from the pub to the station and not bother with Ramsgate! FYI the High Speed train to St. Pancras don't stop there so don't go there if your booked on that service.
Very useful tip about Minster ^^ - much appreciated, and I may well take that option (I shall be travelling cross-country, via Tonbridge & Redhill). However, the train also goes through Wye (a beautiful village, where I worked for 3 years) and (Tr)Ashford

, where I lived for 3 years, so I may choose to make a visit to one or more 'establishments' there!

Henry III - any chance you can do a mini-trip report with a couple of pictures? It would be nice to record it for posterity.
I also love the wee airports - and it is purely because of this that I'm making the trip to MSE (I have no sensible reason whatsoever

)
A mini trip report could be forthcoming!* But, many years ago, I made a very firm decision to not travel with a camera (for all sorts of strange reasons, way beyond the scope of this thread/forum), so don't expect any pictures (unless I can find a packet of felt-tip pens).

* Especially if I can cajole somebody from the local RAF museum to fly me to LGW in a Spitfire!
