Reviving an old thread to provide an update.

When I was researching my plans to use the Marriott travel package to qualify for Companion Pass, I came across a blog with a comment that sometime in the last few months, someone booked a travel package and their miles did not qualify for Companion Pass.

I was nervous but I took the chance and went ahead and booked my travel package yesterday (Tuesday, March 25th). This morning (the next day), my Southwest points showed up and they show as qualifying for the Companion Pass. So a couple more transfers to go to get the last 10,000 points and I'll have my Companion Pass!

Want to thank everyone on Flyertalk who post on these threads as I would never have thought of using a Marriott travel package otherwise
