Even better, NEXUS costs $50 for 5 years, and gets you Precheck and Global Entry as a bonus. It is a more extensive background check, and requires a day run to the border. I've read that those who get Precheck via NEXUS get a higher percentage of 3-beeps than those who get Precheck as a stand-alone.
