Well if you stay at the InterContinental then you will most likely get a Royal Ambassador status by next year. You should register for Ambassador soon.
If you register for Ambassador you'll get a BOGO for a weekend and at least 1 level upgrade for the hotel you book. Free WiFi that alone is worth it, since they tend to charge an arm and a leg for WiFi.
