1. I don't completely trust the IAA's definition of a "concern". I had to stand in the "concerns" queue a dozen times in recent years while they inspected my luggage, their concerns assuaged when they found my... boots. It seems that boots made the concerns list for quite a while a few years back, who knows what it will be tomorrow.
2. Theft from checked luggage is not common, but happens. More often in developing countries where the the valuables in your luggage are worth much more relative to the handlers' income, where even the not-so-valuable valuables become attractive.
3. No, I don't carry uncut diamonds and cans of beluga caviar in my luggage. However, I do want all of my items to arrive with me (even if occasionally my whole suitcase does not). If you are not inconvenienced (at least) by anything going missing from your checked bags, that's quite impressive...
4. Potential pilferers can choose to go for locked luggage or unlocked luggage, Which do you think they prefer to try first ?
5. Remember the arrest at Ben Gurion, three months ago ?

My concern is not at Ben Gurion, but the receiving airport(s).

So, most of the time, no problem...
