I bought $5k in VRs on my second purchase. I did a $2k donation with the third to put me over the top. The first billing cycle closes for me in a few days, and I haven't even had the card for a week. I'm going nowhere near my CL, and I have a long history with AmEx. However, this all goes out the window once you've been a lucky recipient of a FR.
