I flew through DTW recently and noticed an office where you can sign up for precheck inside security near gate A38.

What I don't know is whether it's for just walk ups or appointments are needed etc.

The irony of having it inside security comes from the fact you may need a boarding gate pass to get there and have to go through the old procedure one more time to (hopefully) qualify for it !'

Does anyone got any more detailed info on this?
