I am booking a trip on Southwest to Disneyland. One option is to fly home from Burbank airport. It costs only 10,548 points pp instead of 14,902 pp out of LAX. I like the idea of flying from a smaller airport.

I looked at transportation from our hotel near Disneyland (Residence Inn Garden Grove) to Burbank. A reasonable option is Amtrak - costs $54 for our family of 4. It tales 1hr15mins and arrives at the airport at 12:47pm for our 2:20pm flight home.

I am mostly worried as the train arrives a little later than I like. 1.5 hours before the flight makes me nervous particularly since Amtrak is famous for its delays. Am I crazy worrying or is that plenty of time considering Burbank is a small airport and its a domestic flight? I suppose I could help things out by travelling with carry-ons only (we have no problems with that).

I would definitely consider renting a car, but heard traffic can be horrendous. What is it like at that time of day?

My other option is to pay 14,902pp in points and fly out of LAX. Not sure if that will make my transportation issues easier or harder.

Any suggestions/comments?
