I'm spending a weekend in May crossing off the 50th state on my list of states to visit. The last one. Flying into Omaha, driving to Des Moines, spending the night there, before heading up to MSP to fly home.

Sooooo, what is there to do in Des Moines? I know Ames, the college town is just up the road. Any watering holes, restaurants, corn-fed men?

Haven't spent much time in MSP either, so I welcome tips for there, too.
