My list is generally rather basic, just a ton of stores i always seem to miss. Most of them are on 5th or madison (Bergdorf, Saks, girard perregaux on madison, Hermes on Madison, Barneys, Vertu's new store. Lunch/Drinks at the Core Club, stuff like that), but its just a matter of how far up, is it worth taking the train between a couple of them
All of those are within easy walking distance. No need for public transport. Besides, the subway won't help you as it is out of the way. If you are with someone who needs public transportation due to physical challenges, however, there are buses going up Madison Ave and buses down 5th.
