Yes the second will earn 80 TP's more. If you book on AA.com or call BA to have the AA flights booked under the AA number you will earn F TP's (120 TP's instead of 80).
The ex-EU fares usually prohibit stopovers, you can have a 23:59 connection though. Some fares allow booking on the BA1-4 flights which earn 210 TP's each way.
If you want to go to Washington and Chicago then it is a good price, make sure you factor in positioning flights to PRG.

I'm a bit thick - could you explain this 80-120TP's thing a bit more please?
I've got a LHR - LAX and IAD - LHR booked as two separate Avios rewards. In between I plan to book LAX-LAS-MIA-SJU-ORD then ORD-STL-DFW-SJU-MIA-LAX and a separate booking already made LAX-IAD.
Can I book the AA bits by ringing BA for he same price?
Thanks in advance
