6hr delay EWR-HNL due to mechanical. I got 3 $7 meal vouchers at airport (many others did not). Asked for a lounge pass but was told that the new system won't let them give one. On the plane (in F) they gave us a "Flyer Friendly" amenity kit tin. Towards the end of the flight, announced we would get an email. I was offered 15Kmi, $300off, 20% off. Sat next to a relief pilot, he suggest I should write into the DOT more often to complain.
I wrote into customer care to see if they'll offer an actual $300 ecert instead so it doesn't affect PQD. Got a response after 2 days pointing me to the customer appreciation site, replied with my request, haven't heard anything back. Anyone have any luck with this? Seems like a reasonable request to me.
