Hi all,

Last week I booked SFO-ATL-GCM (for a flight in a few weeks). Booked it in Y and was immediately upgraded for the second leg (ATL-GCM), but not the first (SFO-ATL). Can someone explain why this would happen? I've never flown a Y fare before, but my understanding from the website is that this should be upgraded at booking. There are 6 seats in F (not upgrades, just seats).

Can someone explain?

ps: I'm GM. I'm flying with a companion who is not a medallion; that might mess things up but it does not explain why we got upgraded on the second leg but not the first...
