I've read on here how others find the oneworld levels difficult to understand. Unless you're in the know, how do you know that an emerald is two steps above a ruby?

Gold/Silver/Bronze is clear to everyone. Blue (or any colour really) is the entry level.
That's the exact reason they used gems since the metals are all over the place with OW programs. Gold is for the plebs on AA
