I have used similar service when arriving in Beijing several times, arranged and purchased through the hotel - VIP meet and greet and transportation to the hotel eg Fairmont, Opposite House. This was not through Air China but arranged by hotel which then used airport staff for the meet and greet part. Always arrived on AC.

Not essential, but convenient and it reduces the amount of lifting I have to do - bad back.

I believe on one or two occasions they directed me to the crew line at immigration.
