It was a new and interesting experience. The seat is nice enough, the ICE is the same, but on a small screen, no recognition, and in fact not even offered a drink of anything. But that was fine, the flight was so full, the staff were so busy, and I was shocked at the demands being made with the expectations of Y passengers. I approached my fate with stoic dignity, it was not going to be great, but I would get what I paid for, an economy seat from Tehran to Dubai-safely. The food thrown in was tasty. I didn't get much else, but I didn't pay for anything else.

I never realized cabin crew worked this hard in Y. I also had no idea so many y pax think they are so special, expect something more than safe passage on a cheap flight, and why they think they are deserving of special treatment. I mean, there is one meal choice (lamb and rice), it was actually quite nice, but why did every passenger need to hear a description of what the meal was. The FAs had only described it eight times to the eight adjacent passengers before offering to you. And it was a short flight, they don't have time to indulge people.

I guess my point is we need to be good passengers as much as EK need to be good cabin crew. I got no welcome back, nothing special, but for the price of the Y ticket I paid, I expected to get to Dubai safely, with anything additional a bonus. I was the minority, most of the Y cabin seemed to want the additional included and made their dissatisfaction known when they did not get more than what they paid for. Well done Emirates staff for handling a plane full of difficult and demanding passengers well, under relentless pressure.

Going back tomorrow in J, am sure all will be good again. And if a I am a Plat in the back again, I shall do my best to be a good passenger, I am sure this allows flight attendants to do their job better, and all passengers will get a more consistent experience.
Did - I wish some people were as honest as you and having status its a refreshing post.
If you're nice to the crew more often than not they return the favor, its amazing how especially on a flight like yours a "please and thank you" really do go. However I'd like to say that IKA in Y is no way near as hard as sub continent - for crew its 10x harder than IKA. Just down to service routine and types and requests of pax.

Shame you weren't welcomed back but like you said - you got there safe and sound with a reasonable meal and an adequate seat.

Well written sir ^

Also this may make some laugh, this video is genuine humor and not meant to offend I'm sure http://youtu.be/cZb7fXPpq9o
