Yes but BA doesn't really compete at all with LAN.
If you think LAN is bad, try calling Avianca. They are even more useless than their useless website.

The fact is that BA competes with a lot of airlines that have acceptable to good call centres, and unless you have status, BA's is quite rubbish.
