1. You certainly can't book 2 seats in your own name (other than a POS, but that's another story). One or the other will auto-cancel.

2. How sophisticated WN's systems are is unclear to me. Given the multiple threads about other carriers shutting down accounts and revoking perks for scams even pettier than this, it's all about how much risk you are prepared to accept.
