That's totally possible ^. Just time the NRT-ICN leg for when you get back from your RTW. Don't try miss a segment or the rest of your flights will be cancelled.

By the way, AA do the same trip (JFK-NRT-ICN) in business for $3300 for your dates. Pretty damn good deal IMO and worth the extra if you are flying the rest of the itinerary in style (.. why start and finish with a 14hr flight in Y)
