It has been doing that quite often lately. I have managed to get it to work by literally trying again later.
Is there any other way I can chose my seats on BA without entering my Marco Polo number somewhere? Do I need to enter it somewhere else? CX for example?
You could call BA and have the FF number associated with your booking to the CX one. I don't think they will charge you the offline service fees as you can't do this on BA.com yourself.
