CX807 ORD-HKG J (19 March 2014) - First meal after takeoff, second meal midflight

Midflight meal very annoying. I questioned the cabin staff on CX807 about this, if it is a new policy, they said that yes, effective March 2013 this is a new CX policy, because on such long flights too many people get hungry in the middle of the flight.

I was fast asleep and only woke up because of the commotion caused by meal service.

CX807 was a lunch/dinner flight. Then, the menu says that snacks can only be served before the dinner service. I thought this was really odd since it means that after the middle of the flight meal then no snacks are available.

Luckily towards the end of the flight when I asked for a snack they did serve it to me and didn't tell me that nothing is available after dinner.

The fact that the menu was prepared like that it indicates that dinner was meant to be served right before landing, as then obviously no snacks could be served after that. But maybe someone on the flight decided to change the service timing by themselves? Is that possible?
That is the "hot" debate here. (The ability to change meal times. Read above if interested.)

By chance, were the meal times printed on the menu? (A few weeks ago, HKG-ORD meal times were printed on the menu.)
