I am a frequent traveler to Zhuhai from the US- and lived in Shekou district of Shenzhen for a few years as an expat for my company, so I was the guinea pig for trying out Zhuhai hotels before booking our US visitors in them.

I tried 2 others in the area- and word of warning- if you are not a smoker- do not stay in the others. Breakfast buffet area was filled with smokers, men lit up in the elevators, it was nasty. The hotels looked nice enough from the outside, the rooms were passable (apologies- I don't remember the names of them), all had a bathtub, and western food options, but too much smoke, everywhere. Maybe it's gotten better in the past year or two, but once smoke is in the carpets and fabrics, the smell lingers on.

Just stayed at Holiday Inn Zhuhai again this week- first stay on executive floor was better, as they now have in room wifi on the 17th floor with better quality soaps and shampoo/conditioner. Second stay in a "regular" guest room was not so nice- carpet was older, dingy and a bit dirty looking, and no wifi for the laptop on the 12th floor. Some of the higher floor rooms (sorry- can't remember how high up) have been more recently decorated- and are lighter and brighter, seem bigger, but I believe they are a higher rate.

Breakfast buffet is ok, avoid the cereals as they are often soggy from the humidity. There's a Starbucks about a 5- 10 min walk down the road at the shopping mall that is a better choice for breakfast in my opinion.
