I'm not able to cut and paste the link at the moment, but google barclays usairways and at least two or three recent articles pop up. Barclays has publicly stated that all existing accounts will be converted to an AA branded card. You won't actually be able to apply for the AA branded card, so you need to get the US branded one before the changeover.
