I have a quick LHR/DXB trip this weekend and I've been trying to upgrade with Avios to CW. There seems to be CW availability to purchase but not for Avios upgrade. I'm check about every couple of hours during the day in hope of seats being released.

I usually OLCI 24 hours in advance - but if I do that - is an Avios upgrade still available after that?
You would need to be offloaded from the flight, then process the upgrade online or over the phone, then OLCI again.
