A good trick (if possible) to mitigate jet lag is to adjust your sleeping pattern in the week up to your flight to synch your body more to "their" time.
Another good thing to do is drink plenty of water and go for a walk shortly after arriving at your hotel i.e. do some active stuff so that when it comes to going to bed at the local time you get a decent nights sleep.
Do not go to bed until you should, say 10pm at night. Crashing out earlier will really mess up your sleep pattern.
Lastly, the effects of Jet Lag vary from person to person, some get through it better than others!
