Richardinmotion, if we agree to leave the irony of your post to one side, can you provide more information on your experience and hopefully this will help people in the future?

For example which terminal did you arrive at? Where did the illegal taxi drivers approach you? Where exactly were you when they tried to usher you towards an illegal car?

The taxi touts generally loiter between the escalator/lift and the automatic doors leading to the official taxi waiting area. Maybe those of us that use PEK often are a bit blythe but it is impossible to miss.

Did you think that the guys that approached you were official taxi drivers maybe?
