I always try to make sure to be seated on the "shady" too. As well as not having the glare of the sun, it's also much cooler on the "Shady Side' of the cabin. So, when flying the Atlantic, it's always the "K" side Westbound & the "A" side Eastbound.
POSH, or Port Out / Starboard Home, is a term from the days of the steam liners, IIRC. Ensuring that the passenger, always had sun on their outdoor patio during the crossings.
Whereas it is the reverse, SOPH, we are looking for on an aircraft, when flying the Atlantic
