BOAC 707, probably on a codeshare with Air Jamaica (who at that time had no fleet beyond some small domestic aircraft).

If you were flying FROM New York to Kingston, BOAC would've been one of three airlines offering nonstop service. Two of those airlines continued on to Montego Bay before returning to New York. BOAC was one of those airlines on most days.

Flying northbound to New York however, the single nonstop flight originated considerably farther south of Kingston and, after flying up to New York continued on to yet another destination

I lived in Alberta at the time, and so I kept searching schedules for flights to GTF, MSP, BIL, GEG, all places I have flown from YEG or YYC -- but none flown by a Canadian carrier. Finally I realized I should be looking north -- and yes, in 1957 at least, CPAir had a DC-3 flight from Whitehorse (YXY) to Mayo (YMA) to Dawson City (YDA) to FAIRBANKS (FBK).

Fairbanks it is! I've seen a Canadian Pacific map from the early sixties that also showed a line between Whitehorse and Fairbanks in addition to the Dawson City service. I flew between YXY and FAI on a Wien 737 in 1979. These days the only trans-border service is provided seasonally (summer only) by Air North out of Dawson City, some days with a HS748!

United flew Caravelles into MIA (one of the photos in UA's 1961 annual report shows a then-new Caravelle in front of MIA's terminal), but I think by 1966 they had been displaced by 727s, 720s, and DC-8s.

So, I'll go with Air France, from Port Au Prince, Haiti.

All good points, Joe, but in the spring of 1966 Air France was still using the DC-4 for most of the regional work around its Caribbean protectorates. In fact, Air France didn't commence service into Miami (from PAP) until 1967.

So, we're still looking for that sole Caravelle operator. Please guess again!

The first issue of Airliners International (a very short lived magazine published in 1973 / 74 by Kalmbach, who also publish Trains) featured a ten day trip around eastern North America on such rare aircraft as a Nordair DC-3. One of the flights on this trip was PAP-MIA, on AF.

What a wonderful magazine! I remember my excitement at seeing the premiere issue because back in those days, I don't believe there were any U.S. based magazines devoted to commercial aviation. Needless to say I was an immediate subscriber! I have all four issues, plus back-up copies. I loved David P. Morgan's writing style and those trip reports were the best! My favorite was the journey from New York to Africa involving (amongst other flights) an Air India 747, A British Caledonian VC10, a Ghana Airways F28, an Ethiopian 707 and a BOAC 747. You can still find old issues on eBay now and then.
