If I remember correct you must pick-up your luggage in BKK and take to Thai desk for re-checkin which is after immigration which sometimes takes very looong time (with Bangkok Airways the luggages would go directly to next flight). In case you fly business or have AY Emer. card, Finnair provides nice priority immigration in BKK.
