Been a while... I was on Timor Leste, looking to work there for a year, when I received some unfortunate news about my mother being diagnosed with a nasty disease (thanks in advance for the sympathy...) and I needed to fly back in a hurry.

I held a CW return ticket to BKK bought for next to nothing and it was completely inflexible. I called BA and asked if they could move me to a flight back from SIN instead and after a 5 min wait I was transferred to the 777 flight at minimal extra cost (most of it was waived) thanks to a very understanding call center employee.

When I wanted to assign my seats I saw that only isle seats were available and I decided to see if I could change to the 747 flight instead. Called BAEC in NL and without any problem they switched my flight again and upgraded me to F so I would arrive well rested.

Thanks BA ! Some things may be rubbish but you do treat your loyal customers well.
