Yes, but too much penny pinching is counter productive.
I'm sure I used to be a highly profitable customer for NZ given all the paid business class travel I did, which used to be predominantly on NZ.
Nowadays I very rarely fly NZ in business, and then it is likely to be using miles (or upgrades).
I still fly a lot in business class from NZ, but it is almost all on other airlines.
