Who knows, you might see MLE go via BKK one of these days. You can certainly save on crew costs (using BKK based crew).
From a routing perspective, it makes all the sense for MLE to go via BKK. However, I don't think BKK would have much demand for MLE.
Interestingly I flew a HKG-BKK-KHI-BKK-HKG turnaround two days ago and the crew told me that they would do the BKK-KHI-BKK flight with a turnaround meaning around 12 duty hours all up, and the HKG-BKK the day before and after. I wonder if they are doing the same with HKG-MLE.
